Bird Flu Persists in Indonesia

Indonesia leads the world in human deaths attributed to Avian Influenza. In a country where birds, especially chickens, are valued as much as companions as for their economic contribution, controlling the spread of the virus amongst birds, and between birds and humans, has proved to be a monumental challenge. This two part video series by the New York Times investigates the challenges of containing the virus, and the need for improved training of responders to better manage and control the bird flu at the national, district, and village levels.
