Science education key to ending poverty in Africa

From SciDev.Net 17 October 2007: "Science education is the key to reducing poverty in Africa, according to one of Africa's foremost thinkers on the causes of poverty. Ajaga Nji, deputy vice-chancellor for research and cooperation at Cameroon's Dschang University, believes that poor people remain poor because they lack education, skills, and knowledge of science and technology."

The USAID CRSP program was developed on the foundation of supporting long-term education and degree training in developing countries together with university and institutional capacity building.
