GL-CRSP Podcast Volume 3, Epidsode 2: Interview with Dr. Harison Sadiki, Field Coordinator of the HALI Project, and Howard Kombe, Field Technician for the HALI Project.
Researcher David Wolking of the GL-CRSP interviews Dr. Harison Sadiki and Howard Kombe of the Health for Animal and Livelihood Improvement (HALI) Project in Iringa, Tanzania. Dr. Sadiki a Veterinarian, and Mr. Kombe an Animal Health Technician, are assisting the HALI Project, along with partners Friends of Ruaha Society (FORS) and the Wildlife Conservation Society's (WCS) Ruaha Landscape Program, in organizing an event on September 28, 2008 in celebration of World Rabies Day. The event will feature educational presentations and video, and will be held in one of the HALI Project's study villages, Makifu, near the Wildlife Management Area surrounding Ruaha National Park. Recently, Dr. Sadiki was featured on the Iringa, Tanzania Swahili language radio station Ebony FM, in order to discuss and field questions on rabies in Tanzania. This podcast is both a recap of that interview, and a discussion on the importance of rabies control and prevention at the interface of wildlife, livestock, and human populations.
